For Chris

Not too shabby.
The kit came with some 1/2 " spacers as well as some other screws not designed for the CB11 app.

If you look closely you can see the "pads" to keep the abrasion to a minimum and if you look further down at the bracket mount, you can see one of those 1/2" spacers in use.

MFG have you had a chance to ride it and check wind management?

Once around town Mickey, that's all.

I'll hit the Peshtigo Autobahn today with all the rubber neckers and let you all know.
Man, I just broke a hundred miles on her yesterday! Slow going with the crappy weather and all.

Good test conditions today; 25 mph gusts, light traffic and as usual, lots of Harleys that I can pass.
Typical head buffeting @ 70 into the wind but not unexpected or uncomfortable. No windshield deflection observed. Light or no pressure on the chest. "With" the wind I could have played solitaire on the Gas tank. There was a "buzz" that began @3k under acceleration so I will have to look into that. Maybe adjust its position a tad.
Next time I'll wear a helmet and see how that feels.

I will consider the brackets but not the factory supports, I need something on the bike that's not black. Incidentally, I did query Puig on the metallurgy of the brackets.

I would still like to stuff the brackets behind the supports like Redbird did (against the headlamp) because it obviously looks nicer, but its so darn tight in there. I'll figure something out even if I have to fashion new brackets.

While I can certainly understand that, I think you might be surprised at how nice the brackets would look black, blending in to the fairing.
Regardless of what you decide, that bike looks fantastic! Thumbs Up

I respect all your opinions so maybe I will paint them for a Looksie. I can always change them back. I also recieved a reply from Puig and "yes", the hardware is all stainless.

Thanks for the compliments- it is a killer looking bike! I watched my son who is built like me- only without the grey, drive off on it and I know I was wearing a very, VERY big smile!Big Grin

I bought one of these for my 2013 CB1100 off Amazon for $46. I mounted it with the brackets inside the headlight bracket and also with the third hole to the back. Looks much cleaner with the brackets inside. I left about 1/8 inch clearance from the instruments. The fairing looks nice but actually creates more wind in your upper chest and also wind noise. I think another fairing that is a bit wider, lower and tilted back more might actually work better, like the MRA screens.

Dang..windscreens are just an enigma to me. They do what they are designed to do for some, but not for others. how does a shield manufacturer know when he has it right for the majority?

Seat are another enigma.

that's it... only two enigmas...seats and windshields ha ha
