I actually prefilled the filter quite a bit. And sight glass is still showing full after a good 40 min ride. 4 qts is all I opened and used. My guess is it's .1 qt over filled for whatever reason. Lesson learned for next time.

Simply carefully remove the drain bolt and drain some oil. It's going to be messy. DON'T do it with HOT oil.

Also, unless you REALLY overfilled it (like, and extra quart by mistake), I'd just let it be. Many new bikes, including mine, were overfilled from the factory, and it functions just fine. Save yourself the mess.
Of course it works, but if the oil seals give out ahead of time, don't complain.
Too much oil strains the oil seals and is not good.

I took a turkey baster from my wife's tool drawer and attached with duct tape a foot or so (.333333 meters) of rubber tubing of about the right diameter. Wiggled it down the filler hole and sucked the extra out. Worked like a charm and wasn't messy at all. My wife might dispute that, though.
