Same with my 2010 model, a couple mm of play in the throttle. I never really noticed it before. Funny, when I bought the CB1100 I'd also owned within the last 12 months a 2009 CB400. Having bought the bike without a test ride (I'd made my mind up!). I thought the CB1100 would just be a bigger, retro version. I soon noticed that the instrument panel felt loose and the bike had a 'lumpy' feel to the engine, whereas the CB400's instrument panel is rock solid and the engine runs like a sewing machine.
At the 1000k service I had the mechanics check out the 'loose' panel and asked about the engine, I actually thought it was a spark plug issue, only to be reassured that the panel was designed like that and that the engine was running perfectly!
