The blue case shows the usual wear signs but the tool is as good as the day i bought it.
I have the same Vessel model 2500, made in Japan, in the blue metal case that I have had since 1968 or so. Still works, and like you, it has saved my bacon on more than one occasion with stubborn screws, and without damage to the screw. The model 2500 is now discontinued, replaced with the 25001. The only difference is that the 25001 now comes in a thin plastic sleeve with snap ( same idea as the blue Honda snap pouch for the CB1100 tool kit ), instead of the metal case.
