I read in an other forum that WD40 may not be a good choice as any mineral oil will cause the nylon inners in the cables to swell and grab. WD40 is more a solvent (WD stands for 'Water Displacement') than a lubricant.
Better use (any) dedicated cable lube.

Better use (any) dedicated cable lube. That is the reason that I have not used WD 40 on my CB 1100's , I was talking about earlier bikes !
