maybe other riders that live in Southern California (and don't ride hwy33) could comment on the life of their CB's tire's..

Original tire worn out at 2700 miles? Wow
I was surprised myself.. wait till you see it.. unless I am really getting forgetful, my fronts always gave out first.. I was keeping an eye on my front, when I realized my rear tire was done..

This is Charlotte

Chuckk, this seems to be too big project just by yourself..did Charlotte help you? Tongue

I think Peterbaron posted the above for Chuckk...

Chuckk did you happen to measure the width of the channel where you applied the sealant? It looks to be about 1.5 to 2 inches? If I do this I'll probably use tape on top of the sealant and it comes in different widths.

sorry, but I didn't measure.. I should still have the rubbers that cover the spoke nuts.. they might give you an idea.. I could look when I go out to my shop.. thats where they would be..

Thanks. It would be interesting to know how wide that strip is. Although I realized looking at my bike just now that the rim well can be measured from the outside too.

In regards to Dunlop, my '18 (2019) mule has 12000 kms on the rear and it is toast and is already cracking - front tire too!

Chuck: What's on the rear now - another PR-3 or a PR-4?

G.O... maybe I will try a pr-4, if they are the same size as the pr-3's I have been using.. I heard something about the 4's getting better mileage..

looks like the pr-4's only come in 17in. rears.. I will have to stay with the pr-3's .. ahh well ..Sad

Chuck,

I just fitted a set of Avon Spirit ST II's front and rear and I can say so far that they have been a very strong (currently produced) replacement fort he Michelin PR3/4. I don't know how long you've got but this time next year i'll have about 14k on the rear and I will be able to give a strong assessment of just how good they are in the long haul. First impressions are that they're fantastic though.

Are tires cheaper in CA? (the roads eat them up so quickly)
