You should be able to prep and repaint the black parts whatever color you like. Or powder coating is an option.

aluminum paint stripper takes it off quickly. I've done several bikes. It's no big deal. Hit them with etching primer and what ever color you want or leav'em silver.

I have thought about just taking the paint off the fins. File, sand paper,etc.
The big concern I have is chipping.
