Hey gang
My '10 Cb has what I believe to be a fuel/air issue. It has had a K&N filter and Staintune muffler since I bought it, and I've always had an issue when trying to maintain around the 2500rpm mark - gets jumpy and doesn't want to sit smoothly no matter the gear, just always around that rpm.
I've since fit a bigger aftermarket pipe, and the issue has become worse, also now harder to start, and popping/backfiring like a mofo on decel.
Was looking to fit a Power Commander to rectify the issues, and to pull a bit more (and smoother) power out of her, but they don't offer one for my year model.
Anyone got a suggestion for an alternative?
Cheers in advance

Welcome 83NZA. Aussieflyer has a Power Commander, I think, on a 2010 or 2011 bike. I’m pretty sure the 2013 PC should work as the 2010-2013 bikes were the same.

I can't help with Power Commanders but the decel popping should be able to be eliminated by doing the PAIR delete mod.
And Welcome NZA!!

If it were mine, I'd ask around to see how the Staintune does as the only mod, and consider going back to the stock filter. The fueling on my stock '14 is brilliant.

Can't remember the name, but i put one of those four-pot air/fuel gizmos on my Kawi Nomad 1500 to cure a horrible ping. It worked, and made the throttle response crisper. too.

Have you ever synched your throttlebodies? Or maybe you have a leak somewhere? Sounds like maybe a hose or throttlebody boot may be cracked or leaking. I'd have this issue on my Guzzis..
Check for any cracks in your boots or if a hose came off. Could be a simple fix. A K&N filter won't cause that.

Hi 83NZA,
I've sent you a PM regarding the PCV model to buy.
Given the intake and exhaust changes made to your bike the already slightly lean fueling has become way too lean. A PCV with appropriate mapping will help. To achieve the appropriate fuel map the bike will either need to be dyno tuned, or you also fit Dynojet's Autotune module to the exhaust and PCV. I went the Autotune option which automatically adjusts the PCV fuel map to deliver a specified air fuel ratio.
Deceleration popping is an easy fix just by plugging a hose per Popgun's advice, you'll find the instructions here on the forum.
Good luck with the project.
