  Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
Posted by: BackOnTrack_imp - 09-11-2016, 10:44 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

Anyone doing "Distinguished Gentleman's Ride" this year?
https://www.gentlemansride.com/

I am registered for the ride and they gave me a link for fund raising ([url=https://www.gentlemansride.com/rider/lovethisplanet]link here); posting it here in case anyone is interested in sharing some "coffee money" for a good cause.

Thanks heaps.

  Reflective rim tape

Has anybody used reflective tap on their rims. I ride at night, sometimes and am thinking of adding this to be seen, better at night.

A lake, a creek, a covered bridge and a wolf?
Posted by: the Ferret - 09-11-2016, 02:55 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (11)

After watching Dani Pedrosa win his first MotoGP of the season it was time for a ride. Temperature was a nippy 58 degrees and the skies were clear and bright blue. Figured I'd hit some curves that pass by some water this morning. So first photo stop was at White Oak Creek outside of Bethel, Ohio

Crossing White Oak Creek out on Bethel-New Hope Rd by New Hope, Ohio is this wonderful old covered bridge, no longer usable.

Next stop was on St RT 774 outside of Mt Orab, Ohio at Grant's Lake named for Ulysses S. our 19th president who was born and grew up in this area. Found these guys casting their hopes and dreams for bass, or crappie or blue gill I suppose.

The lake is shallow but large. My younger brother likes to Kayak here. Hey Redbirds....I spotted the snake like neck and head of a Cormorant cruising the lake. Really rare for this area

On my way thru Mt Orab, Ohio I saw this unusual sight. I'm pretty sure this lady was walking a WOLF!

Headed towards Williamsburg, Ohio I had often spotted this old abandoned building way off in the distance on a side road, and have always wondered what it was. So today, being the wanderer I am lol, I took the side road and I'll be darned, the sign says "Country Farm Restaurant". This place is huge. No way there is enough population in the area to support such an endeavor. No wonder it is sitting vacant now and has been for some time.

Great ride. A little over 68 miles. Temp had moderated to close to 70 by the time I got home.

Some hills, some mountains, views and some cows
Posted by: Bosti - 09-09-2016, 09:33 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (10)

Hello all.
Yesterday I had a personal day and so I have decided to hop on my CB and go to Austrian Alps.
I did over 600 km and still wanted to do some more, but the day was to short. Sad
I am attaching some pictures to share with you what I did.

1. stop: Torracherhohe

Also on my way to the valley towards Predlitz I had my first 8000 km.

On the the way towards Innerkrems.

Taking the panoramic road with the highest point over 2000 m.

Then decided to reach the top of the mountain on foot, height 2180 m.

Cows overlooking the action.

Returning to the motorbike.

The panoramic road was cca 35 km long and had over 50 u-turns/loops like this.

A lake by the road.

It was all downhill from here.

  Manniquin Pis
Posted by: piunit_imp - 09-09-2016, 06:22 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (3)

I went bike riding with my bike friend today too.
I went into a mountain to see Manniquin Pis where is in next prefecture.
There is it out of a safety guard.
So I had to stand upon the base of the safety guard at that time to take a picture.
If I drop my iPhone accidentally it will fall into a deep valley I cannot pick up.
We had to ride on narrow winding mountain road for a while to see it.
It was not so hard for my bike to ride there but unfortunately it was hard for my bike friend’s bike because his bike just has a few lean angle.
So I often recommend that he buy a sport bike too. Smile

  Any interest in sissy bars?
Posted by: PowerDubs_imp - 09-09-2016, 11:16 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (85)

Took my wife for her first ride a few days ago. While she found my stepped K+H seat plenty comfortable, she wants a back rest.

I do not want a rear rack so that rules out the factor Honda rack + pad.

I searched and contacted a shop that can make custom sissy bars. I already have the Kijima chrome tubular grab bar.. so I am going to send it to him so he can use it's measurements and tab location.

I am going to stick to the same classic chrome round tube style, incorporate a classic sissy bar style and a back pad. I am also going to have a lower cross tube below the pad so that you can strap a bag to the rear between the top and bottom of the bar.

Does anyone else want one? They won't be cheap, but they should be bulletproof as they are solid, not hollow.
