I took an inspection for my CB.
Posted by: piunit_imp - 08-29-2016, 07:15 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (17)

I went to an inspection facilities today.
We Japanese people have to take the inspection for our cars and motorcycles every two years.
It’s a rule here in Japan but it costs a lot of money.
So we are always nervous because of the inspection every year or every two years.
We usually take the inspection at a car dealer or a motorcycle dealer but their charges are expensive because those dealers must get a profit accepting the inspection instead of owners.
Car and motorcycle owner can take the inspection easily asking it to the dealers but some people including me can’t accept that idea.
So I usually take it by myself because it is much cheaper than the dealers.
It usually costs about 800 USD at the dealers but if I take it by myself, it just costs 200 USD!!
Although I have to prepare some documents and must maintain by myself.
I can maintain several check points and can change several things such as the engine oil or break pads.
So I can take it by myself even though I always ask it for my car because maintaining cars is so-so difficult.
For example, I cannot lift my car up to change the engine oil and also changing parts is not so easy.
I at least take the inspection by myself for my CB.Smile

A little Sunday ride in the great Pacific NW
Posted by: kvdv_imp - 08-29-2016, 12:34 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (7)

Hi everyone... my wife Lisa and I are gearing up for another good ride this year (leaving Sep 9 for 16 days down the west coast and back up via Yosemite and Crater Lake), so yesterday seemed like a good chance to get some miles in and start to get our endurance up. But really, who needs an excuse just to get out and enjoy a wonderful day on the bikes, right? [url=http://karlvandervelden.com/karl-lisa-hitting-the-road-again/]Here's a link to my blog entry for yesterday's ride, and below is a teaser image to reel you in Smile

  Fender Rust
Posted by: bflint - 08-29-2016, 09:23 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (3)

Have seen a few complaints about rust on chrome parts, so when I started my rear signals relocation project, I checked the rear fender when I took it off. Yep it has light rust on all the weld joints and bolds so I cleaned off all the rust with steal wool and 3m pad, then applied Rustoleum XO Rust product over them. You guys always keep me thinking whenever I do maint on my bike (thanks(,

New Whitehouse arived - need help
Posted by: use2b_imp - 08-29-2016, 07:39 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (24)

My new bike finally arrived and it looks fantastic but i am not familiar with the CB1100 at all so let me throw out the good and the bad and give me any input you can.
first off it runs like a top with 2203 miles on it until 35 then it starts front end hop that only gets worse but it is still not so bad I can't ride it. I can see the new Avon roadrider tires have no sign of being balanced so off to the shop in the morning.
I think the sprockets have been changed also as 60MPH is 3200 RPM and 70 MPH is 3800 RPM
It has no tool tray , tool kit or manual so take a look when I get the picture up and tell me what you think ? should I just make something to set over the Battery ?
also have no center stand and the pipes are very busy under there so any suggestions on a bike lift [ nothing fancy ] I will be resizing photo's and trying to post them as we go so thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  Road Comet
Posted by: zippooriginal_imp - 08-28-2016, 01:21 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (9)

I have a brand new 2014 CB1100A. I just received my Road Comet fairing from Samurider. I love its look and the quality of it.
I was heartbroken when I found that it didn't fit my CB. The headlight opening on it is just over 5 inches. The headlight on my CB is just over 8 inches. I am uncertain as to what happened. I ordered a Road Comet 2, but from what I've been able to determine Samurider sent me a Road Comet 1.
Does Chic Design even make a Road Comet that will fit my 2014 CB1100A?
If they do can I return the new Road Comet 1 for a Road Comet that will fit my CB?

  I added some hand guards
Posted by: pwh421_imp - 08-28-2016, 09:03 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (5)

I installed the TMS Black Dual Sport Dirt Bike ATV MX Motocross Enduro Aluminum Inside Hand Brush Guards on my CB today.

I did two things I am not sure about..

1. I attached them to the outside of the bar weights. The bar weight bolt was the right size, and so I went for it. Come to think of it the wind guards on my BMW R1150R were also outside the weights. So, unless someone can tell me why it's a bad idea I'll leave it that way. To be clear the application here is for wind (cold) reduction and cosmetics..

2. I buzzed off the lever balls before I found out the guards would fit over the end weights, so it wasn't necessary.

The process was easy anything might be.. Philips head screw driver and some allen wrenches.

Anyway..

1. Here is the new guard

2. The parts
