I've been after a set of bar end mirrors that retained my bar end weights for quite some time. I wanted to remain legal, while also making my bike a bit more aesthetically pleasing. I find myself using my mirrors very little for more than monitoring whether I'm going to be rear-ended at a red light, as I grew up riding mirrorless dirt bikes and being in the habit of obsessive shoulder checking.

With all that in mind, I set out to find my ideal product, but wasn't all that successful. What i did find were [url=http://a.co/cxBwWK1]these little guys. The quality is higher than I anticipated, and the mirror, albeit small, is quite clear.



I didn't want to give up my weights, as I've gone down that path before and wasn't a fan of the increased vibration.

Instead, I used an 70mm M6-1.0 stainless bolt with the head removed to thread into the mirror where the ball adjustment was previously inserted. I locktited it in place.



From there, I simply used my new mirror/bolt combo with a stainless lock washer as a replacement for the bar end weight's former bolt.

The lateral aim of the mirror is just about perfect (after a bit of light coaxing courtesy of well applied heat), and the vertical adjustment is easy.

I am aware that this solution isn't for everyone, and that these much smaller mirrors may not tot he taste of many, however, for my application I am quite pleased.

Tomorrow I will install dust covers on the front fork, then wait for the snow to melt.





I gave my CB an oil change today, and a host of other small maintenance items in anticipation of spring arriving. After four months dormant, it fired right up.

And yes, I am running Lucas oil. I had 3 quarts remaining from my fall pre-winter storage oil change, but I'll likely go back to OEM oil for my next change.

I have a serious issue with tinnitus, after every ride I suffer. The wind noise (I assume) is aggravating it. Yes, I use ear plugs, I have tried the foam ones, the ear peace ones and several others, but still hear a lot of wind. I read the posts from about a year ago, but would like an update on what others are using? I use a windshield and a full helmet to try and cut the noise, I may be making it worse with the screen, so I'll try it again naked. If I can't get a reasonable solution, I'll be forced to do the unthinkable. And I never thought I would. I love my CB.

Bought a taller and cushier seat from Flytech99. While comparing the it to the standard seat, I came across a handy use of the seat strap.

Ordinarily I would turn the seat release key and lift the seat from the back. But the 2017 EX has a chrome rail around the back of the seat that limits the space for your hand. Grabbed the seat strap instead and the seat came off quite easily.

Tried using the strap to install the seat and that worked well too.

Hi!!! Just wondering if any members have had a 2013 or 14 cb and purchased a 2017 model. It seems to me I can purchase a 13 or 14 cb for thousands of dollars less than a 2017 model. Does the 2017 model justify paying in some cases 5000 to 7000 more? I have had a mid 80s Nitehawk, with shaft drive and liquid cooling and a 2001 Nitehawk 750..I’m just missing a cb!!!!! I currently have a nc 700 x and a Hd Sporster and Iwould trade or sell the NC to help make it happen. Thank you for ant help or suggestions and opinions.

It’s been a while since I posted but I have been lurking in the shadows and living vicariously through those of you fortunate enough to be riding. Alas, I am grounded by a continuing winter in this neck of the woods. I have ordered several mods from Samurider - a Kandi ‘Low’ custom seat, a rear OEM Honda luggage rack and the new Dart ‘Pirrana’ flyscreen. They sit in their boxes waiting and longing to be joined with their beloved 2016 CB1100A that is hibernating miles away in winter storage. I came across this video last night that just made my juices flow for the next riding season. I felt that my 2017 has better road holding right out of the "box" than my 2013 and 2014 did.
On the earlier bikes I put Ohlins shocks but feel that the 2017 does not need it.
Has any one experience with the Adreani inserts for a CB 1100 , they are about $ 650 a set. Plus about $ 200 to install.
I bought 4 sets of Ohlins shocks from Fast Bike Industries and have met the owner Dave Behrend as he only lives about 20 minutes from my home and is a very honest guy with a lot of experience in suspension set ups.
You can install the inserts yourself but it is recommended to have an expert set them up properly.
I am not looking to save 0.8 seconds on lap times but just a nicer ride on the roads.
Can any one comment if it is worth spending the money ?

My CB1100 is coming to the end of its factory warranty and just wondered if there is an extended scheme and if anyone has any knowledge about it including the cost please.

Hi All,

Out of curiosity, has anyone here attempted installing the horns and associated cover and mount from a 2017 EX to the 2014 model? Looking at the microfiche it looks like the parts and the wiring might line up alright but I'm not certain. I really love the look and I think it would go well with the chrome gauge covers and headlight bucket that I've installed so far.

Chores done, dog walked and lunch has been eaten. Is the gas in the CB getting old? Perhaps I should do something about that situation. Rest stop photo and leg stretch on 121 between Napa and the Central Valley.
