Adreani inserts for 2013/2014 ? - Houtman_imp - 03-08-2018 I felt that my 2017 has better road holding right out of the "box" than my 2013 and 2014 did. On the earlier bikes I put Ohlins shocks but feel that the 2017 does not need it. Has any one experience with the Adreani inserts for a CB 1100 , they are about $ 650 a set. Plus about $ 200 to install. I bought 4 sets of Ohlins shocks from Fast Bike Industries and have met the owner Dave Behrend as he only lives about 20 minutes from my home and is a very honest guy with a lot of experience in suspension set ups. You can install the inserts yourself but it is recommended to have an expert set them up properly. I am not looking to save 0.8 seconds on lap times but just a nicer ride on the roads. Can any one comment if it is worth spending the money ? RE: Adreani inserts for 2013/2014 ? - Houtman_imp - 03-08-2018 Perhaps I should have made it clear that these go into the front forks ! Seems unlikely... RE: Adreani inserts for 2013/2014 ? - Houtman_imp - 03-09-2018 No, it is a kit for earlier CB 1100.s , the 2017 already has the dual bending valve set up and this is perhaps one of the reasons the 2017 feels better as far as road holding is concerned. Look at the Adreani website or Fast Bike industries web site . RE: Adreani inserts for 2013/2014 ? - PowerDubs_imp - 03-09-2018 Correct, which is why I was confused. Your post makes it sound like you are wanting to purchase and install the kit into a 2017. RE: Adreani inserts for 2013/2014 ? - Houtman_imp - 03-09-2018 No , just on the 2014 and perhaps later on the 2013. Adreani inserts for 2013/2014 ? - chync_imp - 03-09-2018 I have those inserts in my 2014 and they were an absolute must but primarily because the stock springs were under sized for my weight. I do like to ride briskly on the mountain roads and before the front tire was wearing in a way that also suggested I was having suspension issues. For faster stable cornering the linear springs in the inserts do make a noticeable difference but for cruising I’m not sure how much you would notice. You can put a zip tie on your fork on the upper part to see how far your forks compress when riding. Just place it at the bottom. After you ride measure the position relative to where it was originally. You can compare that distance to the maximum fork travel to get an idea of how close you are to bottoming out. If you are close you would benefit by having properly sized springs. You are welcome to ride mine if you want to see if you can tell a difference. I’m not far from you.
