A question about stock OEM Bridgestones
Posted by: ohiorider_imp - 08-05-2018, 08:52 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (28)

I'm still riding on the tires that came on my 2014 CB1100. They are Bridgestones, (don't recall the model.)

What I've noticed, at 5200 miles, is that the rear tire appears to still have substantial tread.

The front, on the other hand, looks like it needs replaced. The center of the tire tread seems almost used up.

Any ideas? I do use the power of the front brakes a lot when stopping. The rear brake is used more for controlling the bike thru low speed turns, as a way of modulating the power to the rear wheel.

In the past (go back 30 or so years) I typically replaced a rear tire twice as often as a front tire. As time progressed, I replaced both front and rear at the same mileage.

The CB1100 is the first bike I've owned in 'modern' times that wore out the front tire, while leaving more than adequate tread on the rear tire.

Yesterday evening drove by and thought it was CB550... today went to check'em out and took a few pics.
Both are Kawasaki 550 LTD, 1980 & 1982.
'82 in good running condition (did not ride but heard engine running and revving 4000rpm = sounds good), '80 - no spark
I am NOT soliciting anything at all

  Brno GP **Spoiler Alert**

Couldn't compete with Assen for sheer thrills, but still delivered a great finish with Doviziozo, Lorenzo and Marquez fighting it out until the bitter end.

And Rossi first into the first turn. Been a while since we've seen that.

Hi
I’ve recently bought a CB1100RS. I’m finding the bars a bit low. Does anyone know if the bars off the EX can be retrofitted or would I need all the other stuff off the EX to complete.
Thanks

So, there I was last summer at the local Honda dealership parking lot loading up oil into the saddlebags of my CB1100 when I'm approached by a gentleman who comments on the bike. "That reminds me of my CB750 that I haven't ridden in over 30 years." "It's been in my shed since I last rode it...it's a low number too...seventy five sixty four...a 1970 model."

Would you be interested in selling it? Says I. "Heavens yes, I'll never do anything with it." We agreed on a price, sight unseen, but I was hoping that he'd forget about it since my garage is full-up up with projects.

Well, I saw him this week and he reminded me that I'd better pick up "my" bike because there were several people who were interested in buying it. But, since he'd promised it to me, he was holding on to it.

So, now I'm in possession of a 1970 CB750 that is a true "barn find". Yep, cows and all. NOT a sandcast model and it's been subject to the weather since it was positioned near an opening in the building.

The past few days I've been cleaning it, put a new rear tire on so it'll roll around the shop, and generally figuring out what to do with it next.

Funny how these things work out. BTW, I've also acquired several Yamaha SR500s by riding mine around and meeting people who wanted to sell theirs.

I'll post some pics once I figure out how to do it.

  Can’t find a CB1100, may buy a V7.
Posted by: PAULIBIKER_imp - 08-03-2018, 09:31 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (17)

My search for a local CB1100 for sale is futile, but I found a 14 Moto Guzzi V7 close and in my price range.

Anybody have one? Opinions?

  Samurai Tail Light wiring
Posted by: HWdesign_imp - 08-03-2018, 04:23 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (8)

Hi

I am in need of a bit of help.

I purchased the tail light from Samurider. It came with red/black/yellow wires.

The 2013 bike has black-brown, green brown and green yellow.
-------------
Tried this and no go.

black/brown wire on the cb to black

green wire on the cb to the red.

tried touching the yellow cb wire to a bolt and bammo. Fuse blown.

Any help would be appreciated.
