As it's nearly bedtime on 24 December 2025, I thought I'd take the opportunity to wish all members of the forum the compliments of this festive season. I hope you have a wonderful holiday with family and others dear to you and that 2026 is a year in which the chrome sparkles and the rubber stays firmly stuck to the road.

Thanks for being such a friendly and easy-going bunch. It's a pleasure spending time with you.

  Hello from Japan
Posted by: Webike Japan - 12-23-2025, 07:56 PM - Forum: New Members - Replies (3)

Hi everyone,
This is Webike Japan.

We’re a Japan-based motorcycle parts retailer, and first and foremost, we’re riders ourselves. We’re here because we genuinely enjoy motorcycles and the communities built around them.

For forum members, we hope to offer some exclusive perks from time to time, such as special coupon codes or group-buy opportunities — only when it makes sense and adds value for you.

If you ever have technical questions about fitment or performance, we’ll do our best to help. Our engineers in Japan can provide insights directly from the source, and we’re happy to share that knowledge when it’s useful.

We’ll also occasionally post new product information, especially when something interesting or relevant becomes available.

We fully respect this forum and its rules. We won’t spam, and we’ll strictly follow all vendor guidelines. If any verification or documentation is needed, we’re more than happy to provide it.

Most importantly, we hope to contribute in a positive way — answering questions, sharing information, and supporting fellow riders.

Thanks for having us, and we look forward to being part of the community.

Best regards,
Webike Japan

  Winter thread...how long?
Posted by: pdedse - 12-23-2025, 07:31 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (19)

How about a winter-time thread since it's a bit slow around here...

When did you buy your current CB1100? Have you owned more than 1?  New...used...miles / kilometers...and maybe the earliest photo you have of your CB1100?

I bought my 2017ex in Feb of 2018.  It was a new left-over on sale and I drove 4 hours to a dealer east of Seattle to pickup it home.  It has just under 31k miles.

I also had a 2014 Standard; I also bought it on sale as a left over, back in Jan of 2015.  I owned it 2.5 years and traded it in for a Triumph Speed Twin. It had around 14k miles when I let it go.

Would love to hear stories of your CB1100 acquisition.

I came across this top speed test video:

Speed limiter kicks in at 180 km/h, speedo showing 190 km/h, same like the CB 1100.

  SOLD: Ikon shocks
Posted by: Beardo - 12-23-2025, 09:14 AM - Forum: Archive - Replies (16)

I sold my 2014 CB1100, but took off the suspension bits I had installed last year. Ikon shocks. Price will be $350 plus shipping.

Only have about 3,000 miles on them. Made the bike ride night and day better from stock!

You can email me at black06883@yahoo.com, call or text me at 412-417-6554

Brian

I'm trying to raise some funds for the Multistrada I picked up, so I am motivated to sell this set-up!!

I am trying to figure out (again!) how to crop the pictures!

  Honda Global Website
Posted by: Cormanus - 12-22-2025, 05:55 PM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (3)

I stumbled across an updated Honda Global website this morning.

In the menu "Business & Innovation" click on "Motorcycles". At the bottom of that page there's a link to "After Sales". Then, amongst all sorts of links on that page, again at the bottom, there's a link to "Motopub" where you can find a limited number of manuals in various countries. More work on the site is clearly needed, but you never know, you may find something useful there.

Meonum 2 Pack Brake / Clutch Bleeder Kit (Amazon)
Posted by: rdprdp01 - 12-21-2025, 03:22 PM - Forum: Great Tools . . . - Replies (3)

I am looking forward to completing my annual motorcycle maintenance on Christmas Eve this year. It is a present I have opted to give myself: some quality time pampering the CB1100EX!

One item on the list is bleeding the brakes and clutch. This year, I plan for the first time ever to reverse bleed my brakes and clutch systems. My inspiration for this pivot came courtesy of a RevZilla Video I saw while scrolling for tools:

From an engineering / design perspectives, I can see how the "bubbles" could be easier to disperse if the fluid is moving "up" to the reservoir as opposed to "down" through the bleed valve on a caliber. But as logical as that may sound,  my experience working in the energy sector has taught me that trapped air can sometimes have a mind of its own!  Smile

That is why I went looking for a kit that had a back-pressure valve to help me manage flow. I found an incredibly affordable kit on Amazon. Please see Meonum 2 Pack Brake Bleeder Kit. Pictures follow.

If this experiment works, I will be delighted to reduce time and the amount of fluid I typically use. If it fails spectacularly, I can always revert to a traditional bleeding of the brake and clutch systems.

I follow many motorcycle mechanics on YouTube. The Flying Lumpia is one of those. He has a vibe and tone about him that is engaging and is relatable. He is a track guy who rides every day, ocassionally as a hooligan street racer. Smile

He found a way to use the back pressure valve in a traditional brake-bleeding scenario:

I am cautiously optimistic things will work because of the engineering behind the ABS system on my motorcycle. God Bless Honda for nice clean cabling that moves predominantly upward. I will include that analysis in the "How To" I will publish on Christmas Eve.

If you have attempted this technique yourself, please answer the poll question and indicate your experiences. Have a great week.

David
