Been waiting to get the "bare minimum" installed before riding OHV trails: handguards, handlebar and grips, adjustable mirror, skid plate, lower pegs and side rack.  I also had a welder strengthen the subframe, but that's for whether I put any weight on the tailrack which I haven't installed yet.  Right around 39-40 degrees.  Lots of rain of late, so lots of puddles and mud.  Only about 20 miles of offroad trails and FS roads, but a very fun couple of hours.

I've been coming to this area for about 15 years.  I'd say this has happened about half a dozen times.  Totally preventable, as I slowed too much, put foot down, slippery! and down!  But the side rack and hand guards did what they're designed to do, no damage to bike

Found a new to me road and wanted to take it deep into the woods, but my toes and fingers were getting numb.  Only 275 miles on the bike, but I'm hopeful for several camping trips this spring and summer.

  Early Spring In Chicagoland
Posted by: emptysea - 02-18-2026, 11:14 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (4)

It was sunny in the upper 60's here on February 17th.  Pretty amazing.  Today it's 59 and sunny and the overnight rain washed all the junk off the road.

I have a nasty head cold and cannot ride.

That is all.

Rode one for a while last summer…

A friend lent me his 2023 Honda Trail 125. Fell in love with it. Ended up finding a 2025 in Indiana last December.
Haven’t put any miles on yet. Not much power, but boy are they a blast.
Color is Pearl Smoky Gray.

  Rear Suspension upgrade
Posted by: 17-CB-002 - 02-15-2026, 03:51 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (3)

Good Day to all, I am studying the possibility of upgrading my rear suspension - (Shock Absorber) and will like to have the exact unloaded length specification (eye to eye).

Anyone has ever measured it?   Thanks

  Viewing Pictures: UK Users
Posted by: Cormanus - 02-11-2026, 05:16 PM - Forum: Announcements & Forum Matters - Replies (18)

Recently joined member, Nick Tatlow from the UK, reported receipt of a message telling him he couldn't view certain images from his location.

(02-10-2026, 07:56 AM)Nick Tatlow Wrote: I've noted that where some (but not all) images should appear I have a "Content not viewable in your region" banner. I'm in UK. Anyone know what that's about?

I've done a little research. Apparently Imgur has geoblocked the UK in response to the UK's Online Safety Act coming into full force. See this article, but search with your favourite engine and there'll be plenty more information.

The take out is that Nick, and other UK-based users of this site, may have problems viewing those pictures on the forum that are posted by means of a link to Imgur. If that doesn't make sense, see max's work on using Imgur. And please note that this is a preferred way of posting photos as quality images use storage space and it saves the forum owner have continually fork out more of his hard earned to pay for it,

The problem cannot be rectified by the forum; it's a problem created by Imgur's response to the law in the United Kingdom.

Anyone hollowed out stock catalytic converter?
Posted by: MagnaRider - 02-10-2026, 08:09 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (4)

Wondering if anyone here has gutted the stock cat on these bikes. Just about to start my little winter project and want to remove the exhaust and hollow out the catalytic converter to get some more sound. Not looking really for performance upgrades, just a bit more noise. I have the o2 sensor delete and PAIR deleted so the cat really isn't doing anything for the bike performance wise as far as I understand. But if I take the exhaust off to give it a full polish might as well gut the cat. Is it a honeycomb style cat? Can I just drill it out/ram a rod up there to clear it? Will I even gain any sound? Just curious on anyone's thoughts
I do not have emission testing where I am at and it's not a concern at all so, please don't give that suggestion lol.
Otherwise, all I have for getting ready for this spring is new tires and oil change.

Or, if anyone is selling an aftermarket exhaust, this guy is interested.  Wink

Thanks, as always!

(CA Bay area) Alice’s on Skyline, Superbowl Sunday
Posted by: JRD - 02-06-2026, 11:23 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (2)

I’m going to try to take advantage of the great coastal California weather and everyone being indoors and watching the Super Bowl by going on a Sunday ride.

Meet you at Alice’s Restaurant on Skyline at 3:00pm? We’ll get a beer and kick the tires before looping back to our respective home bases.
