  CB1100 Deluxe in CA.?
Posted by: norcal1_imp - 03-20-2015, 03:27 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (25)

Hello, I am new to the forum. I am looking for a CB1100 Deluxe in CA. if anyone knows of a dealer with one, please let me know. I called a dealer in San Diego yesterday who had a ad on Cycletrader, but it is sold. He told me there are two in CA. but would not disclose the dealer, just kept trying to get me to buy the black one he had. They have the black one here in N. Cal.right down the street. Any information would be help. Thanks in advance.

Installed this last night. It was a snap! 10 minutes.

More and better pics to come. Took this one in the morning as I rushed out the door.

  Attempting to Pick Another Helmet
Posted by: linuxology_imp - 03-19-2015, 11:28 AM - Forum: Riding Gear - Replies (11)

Presently have a HJC CS-R2 and looking to upgrade. Bell RS-1 did not work out. Due to selection locally I will be buying online. I am quite weary of integrated sunscreens as I am skeptical of the lasting nature of the movement, and scared that it may not be dark enough. I have never had issues sliding my sunglasses in my full face helmet. I am looking at HJC FG-17, HJC RPHA. Not sure which of those I should pick. Seems all the other helmets that interest me have integrated sunscreens, AVG Horizon, HJC IS-17. Thoughts/Recommendations. My budget is up to $300. Helmet must be available in white.

  Chic short rear fender installed

Installed my Chic short rear fender last night. Got the black one since I wanted it to be as subtle as possible. Yes, I know the turn signal in the pic is pointing a bit low. I had the wire a bit too taut, lol. I'll post better pics later tonight.

Will probably install the red Hakofugu front fender tonight after I finish striping it.

Still waiting on the Chic Sport seat.

Arrow Exhaust / PC V Installed
Posted by: JF Coastal_imp - 03-18-2015, 09:26 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (21)

Installed an arrow exhaust slip on this weekend, and had a PC V installed and had the shop Dynotune and create a custom map for my bike this weekend. Might have been overkill having them do the dynotune since I haven't modified the bike much yet. But they were pretty convincing . Picked up the bike last night, it's running and sounding great !! I'll post pictures up soon.

Saw my 1st CB not on the show room floor, but didn't meet the owner. Lots of cool bikes on a sunny eve. Here's a pic with a red bmw in-between us. Mine is the one with the 2 helmets on the mirrors.

  PIAA Factory Headlight Recommendation
Posted by: rocket_imp - 03-18-2015, 06:11 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (5)

After reading on here that someone replaced his headlight bulb with a PIAA # 15224, I decided to confirm the application with the technical people at PIAA. They supply two different catalogs for autos or bikes and, therefor, have decided to apply different part numbers for each group. The 15224 is the correct bulb, but comes from the automotive catalog for use in cars. However, the direct equivalent to that bulb for bikes is the 70456. Although they are both rated the same and are PIAA's " Extreme White Plus ", the bike # 70456 incorporates a very important feature "Anti Vibration " that is only used in the 70456 & not in the 15224.
A note: PIAA bulbs are rated the same 60/55 as our original Honda bulbs, but because of using higher quality gases & manufacturing technics, they produce the equivalent of 100 watts while still drawing the same amperage & will not overheat the reflective lens.
I hope this is of some help when upgrading your lighting. The 70456 sells on eBay for about $35. Rocket

For a second bike - AM I INSANE?
Posted by: JustPassinThru_imp - 03-18-2015, 05:53 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (30)

There's a Kawasaki Eliminator 125 for sale nearby for about $900.

Two thousand miles on it.

Yeah, I know..."trainer." I'm looking for something small and fuel efficient, to get me around town. And I want to stay away from the Scooter thingy.

The CB1100 is okay for that; but traffic here during the daytime is literally jammed. Air cooled big engines are not what you want, when the summer temperature sizzles.

A cheap lightweight won't overheat as fast and if it DOES...no great loss if the engine's trashed.

Thoughts?
