Hi guys, I mentioned that I will be making a few things for my 2014 CB110 and I finally got my first piece! Its a plate to replace the stock reflector bracket, I mean license plate bracket ;-)
I actually made two of these, and as some of you may know I have been doing custom metalwork since 1996. So here is a link to my Etsy Store where I have one for sale. Please check it out.
I plan on making more if the demand is out there.

Please stop now if you don't like swearing, as I cannot today adequately express myself otherwise.
Down the coast highway from Carlsbad into San Diego, stretches of open coast, some densely congested urban jousting, the Torrey Pines grade, a freeway hop, and even some construction and special events traffic obstacles.
What a cuss perfect motorcycle.
That's all!

| CB1100 and Ducati Hypermotard... to each his own |

A friend and I went riding today and we switched bikes for a bit. Thus I found myself on a Ducati Hypermotard... a very strange beast. Both bikes are air cooled, both have two wheels and similar controls but there the similarities pretty much end. The Ducati vibrated like riding a chain saw and it was quite twitchy. The overall bike is quite short and I felt like I was sitting right over the front wheel. The gear shift took a lot of force to move between gears. It is much lighter than the CB (by over 100 pounds and I could definitely feel the difference). Didn't much care for it at all.
My friend on the other hand said that riding the CB was like sitting in a barcolounger and gave him no sense of excitement. He said it was way too smooth for his liking. My reaction was "um.. too smooth? really? whatever" and then we went back to riding our own bikes and were each quite happy.

First off, I don't even have my 2014 DLX yet, called the dealer and i'm due to pick it up on the 10th of April, they still have 8' snow banks (down from 14'). But, I have been on this forum since the day "I committed". I have been checking out all the mods that everyone has done to their CB1100s and I like them all ! I fell in love with the look of the Cafe mods, especially the Chic cowl and seat, red fenders, headlight bucket etc., all very cool. But I keep coming back to the stock DLX. The main reason I went with the DLX was the 4 into 2. I like the symmetry, along with the other perks and it looks good in red. No offence to the Black Beauty's intended ! I have never been a huge fan of red, not sure why, don't have any red t-shirts, don't wear red hats, never bought a red car, but this bike looks great in red and I bought it. I love to mod my bike to be individual as does everyone, but I also love the stock look of the CB1100 (so far I have added fork boots)(oh, and RLETS). Since I have been on the forum I have been exposed to so many very cool bikes not available in the US and I think (today) that I am leaning towards the either white or grey scheme. Just tank and side covers change, black rack and gaiters. Now, the reason for all this rambling is, are there any white or grey owners out there that would like to trade for red ? I know its a long shot and I can get the parts from Samurider, but just thought I would ask. Cheers !

| Shifting issues |

My bike seems to have some issues shifting. On getting in the freeway from 5-6th gear the bike made a clunk noise and the gear indicator was at blank "-". Then when i got off i was shifting from 2-3rd and it felt like it went to neutral. I constanlty hit nuetral from 1-2 too more often over the past month.
Does this mean I'm overdue for a chain adjustment or something bigger?
