All the gear, all the time???

[Pterodactyl_imp]

Gloves, jacket, modular helmet, boots (sneakers sometimes)... all the time. But I do wear jeans and would love to find a good pair of armored and skid proof jeans to wear instead. Any ideas?

These have had very good technical and "fashion" reviews. Not sure about availability in your area.

Draggin Jeans.

Cheers and best regards to you both.

Yes, I am going to order a pair soon. I may go without the armor though since I like relaxed fit jeans.

Here's the USA site.

You've found DRAGGIN

Check out Diamond Gusset Jeans. The inseam is available in 1" increments, knee, hip and butt armor, Velcro straps on the cuffs, extra side pockets, look great, very well made.

I highly recommend these. I have several pairs and they are my summer-time fair weather riding pants.
What I really like about them is that you can order any inseam and waist size for a perfect fit.
The Velcro strap on the cuffs is a nice touch to stop that cuff flapping that looks so uncool

Here's a crash test of Rukka motorcycle pants, Rider crash tests Rukka motorcycle pants - webBikeWorld.

I also found this piece on the sale of protective gear in Australia a bit interesting, although the researchers have not released details of what they actually tested. Motorcycle gear fails abrasion tests - webBikeWorld. Not the comment that the gear available from Aldi from time to time is up there.

I ride year round in Oregon where it tends to rain from time to time. My commute to work is only 4 miles, but even then I'm bound to get wet and worse--wet and cold--if I don't dress right, but I do, mostly. Summers...sometimes I don't...because I simply don't think anything is going to happen and I ride extra safe. Yes, I know, what about the others? I have no good argument. Ok, I always ride with helmet and gloves and long pants here in the States. 95% of the time jacket and pants...but some days...no. I also ride quite a bit in Costa Rica where I have another life. I ride 6 miles to the beach in my shorts and t-shirt and 3/4 helmet...and light gloves. It's also 95 degrees and even higher humidity...and my maximum speed along these roads is about 30mph on my Honda CGL125. I minimize risk most of the Atgatt time...but yeah...sometimes I don't wear my seatbelt either. I don't know why. Maybe it's a generational thing...we used to cut the seatbelts out of our old cars so they wouldn't get in the way. I can't recall using a seatbelt ever from the late 60s until the early 90s...then it was the right thing to do.
