Has anyone tried to remove the black finish on the wheels, lower forks or engine? If so how hard is it to do. OR buy new Deluxe wheels, lower forks and side covers. I like the silver look better.

Acetone? Actually I don't know, but buying new wheels, etc. is going to be EXPENSIVE! Selling the old ones would recoup some money though.

Or look in the classifieds or ebay for decent used wheels.

You could look into Vapor Blasting for the wheels and fork lowers. If it is just the engine covers you want non-black, I would buy replacement covers. If you want a full silver engine, Vapor Blasting could also work, but tear down and rebuild could be expensive/time consuming. Good luck and do what makes you happy and makes the bike yours.

How about just using paint stripper to remove the existing finish, then buff or polish to whatever surface finish you want then clear coat?

I wouldn't bother, not worth the time or effort and if you mess it up no turning back. Just sell bike and buy another without the black if it bothers you that much

I have to agree. This is what I thought when I read the first post, but it's your bike to do with as you wish.
Unless you're very lucky and very skilled, I fear you may be heading down a path of deep regret.
Once you start there is no turning back so think of this very carefully before you do anything.

Good advice and I agree. I don't own a CB1100 yet but want to buy one. The local dealer has a 2014 black and I was thinking about buying it and removing the black. I will just keep looking for a red bike. Prefer the Deluxe.

Oxidize? Sure, but that is not the same.
