I use brass or bronze (can't remember which right now) on mine. Good on guns too and boat stuff. I use that for the reason that Deanohh mentioned.

I didn't know there was stainless steel wool.

There's a lot mentioned on there about attending to the headers with wire wool, which I assume is what we call steel wool. I hope y'all are using stainless steel wool because, depending on how agressively it is rubbed, the regular stuff will leave tiny particles of steel imbedded in the surface which WILL rust and cause an ugly stain.

I knew of steel wool, but didn't know about stainless steel wool, haven't cleaned mine yet, gonna try mothers chrome polish that someone recommended first.....Thanks for the tip....

Yeah, I did mine. The mothers mag polish worked great on mine. I did use a scotch Brite pad "very lightly" on a few spots. My headers still looking great.
