Adjusting clutch friction point

I feel like I'm getting a bit of clutch drag when the bike is warm, most noticeable between first and second. My clutch engages very close to the handlebar and I would like to move it out to the center of the lever movement but I don't know where the adjustment screw is. There seems only to be the large adjustment point down by the transmission. HAAAAAALP!

Don't really know if there is much you can do with a hydraulic clutch system. The system may have air in it and need bleeding. If the bike is new I would go back to my dealer and have it checked out.

What weight and type oil are you using? If you're using an oil that has friction modifiers, like most 5W-30 oils then it is an oil for automotive use only and may cause clutch slippage.

The shop manual lists 9 things it could be wrong. if its under warrenty took it in, if not buy a manual & fix it yourself.

changing your clutch lever distance dial on the lever itself can make a difference. setting it to #1 moves the lever tip it's farthest distance away from the handlebar giving the longest stroke. setting the dial to position #5 moves the lever tip 1/2" closer to the handle bar for shorter fingers like mine.

I have my clutch dial on #5 but my brake dial on #3

There is one thing you can check.

You'll notice the hand lever and the part that actually pushes on the master cylinder piston are separate. If the part that pushes the piston is not allowing the piston to return fully then it is possible for the piston to "bleed down" to a lower level.

If this is happening perhaps just a drop of oil on the pivot may solve your problem.

This can also happen to people that constantly have their hand slightly pulling on the clutch lever not letting it return completely.

Also, make sure the fluid level is high enough.
