brake & clutch adjusters
#1
My adjuster wheels (for clutch or brake) are very, very hard to turn - in any position of the levers including released.
Adding oil or cleaners around and under the adjuster wheels hasn't helped the matter at all. Has anybody found a good way to get them working better ?

You push the lever forward and they are still difficult? One would think some WD-40 or silicone spray would make them turn easier. If not maybe PB Blaster?

Maybe take a set of slip jaw pilers and work them back and forth a little?

You may remember that my bike has a "dirty" history, I reported this a while ago.
And yes, I can confirm ...
- difficult in any position of the levers
- WD-40, a little or a lot, and patiently waiting for the results, does not solve the problem.

I can adjust them with a screw driver and a lot of force, but this ain't ideal.

Doesn’t look like it comes apart, but I haven’t checked my bike.

Well, the thing is once you get them where you want them, there is little need to move them again. Mine have been in the same position for 9 years now. Mine are probably "stuck" now too.

The levers should be removed at the pivot bolt and cleaned and lubed once in a while. It may have been damaged just a little and is pinching the adjustment wheel. You say you move it with a screw driver, as in, pushing it like a pry bar or turning a slot in the screw? Hope that makes sense. TM

Ferret is right, Nobody needs to adjust 3 times a week .... BUT I couldn't test for the best position while riding. That's where it would have been nice to be able to adjust without tools.
No I have it in the right position. Thanks for your help guys.

I missed that in the past, thought innocently that WD was both cleaner and oil. But when I think about that now, I think it's nonsense. So - thanks for your clarification.
