Thanks for that. Sounds like good info. If I puncture a tyre I will replace it. I like, on the odd occasion, to exceed 120kph.
Another problem is that the puncture may occur where you could spend a long time talking to the kookaburras, or crows, before a punctured tyre Samaritan, who can transport your bike, or wheel, to a qualified tyre repair shop appears on the horizon. For that reason I carry a temporary puncture repair kit in remote areas.

I had a flat in my rear tire at 364 miles and felt the same as the previous post. Replace the tire .
Tires are cheap compared with hospital bills, why take the risk.

Going over this thread I would have to agree with Houtman, and others who take the new tyre position.

Based on that information my tire could have easily been repaired as you can see from my original photo the puncture was less than 3mm in diameter. The new tire installed by the dealer was $215.00 complete. The towing was free because I have AAA RV/Motorcycle.

That's fine if you intend to comply with:

Irrespective of whether you want to exceed 120kph (as I might want to do), even putting that condition on would make me feel insecure.

Seems like sound advice. Tires are replaceable, your life is not. Now I understand the economic challenges of life well as when in college I went without food and picked up bottles and cans to make money. But is your life only worth $150? A car has some risk, but a motorcycle is far greater risk. Why add to it excessively? My $0.02
