Sounds stupid, and it probably is. But I need to know how to get the inner plugs for the end weights, out of the bars.
Going with someone's advice, I'm going to try to kill vibration on the handlebars by filling them with lead shot. And yes, I did find some lead shot in a sportsman's store. Shot, funnel, bike and I all got together...and when I took off the end weight, the inner plug just stared at me. No obvious way to get it out.
So...how do I make it happen?

So the grips have to come off; and a tang depressed that pokes through a hole near the end.
Cripes. I put a nice set of foam grips over the factory grips for added cushioning...and they did/do help; but the weren't designed to be removed once put on. They'll probably tear coming off.

You don't have to tear the foam grips. Use rubbing alcohol to remove the factory grips. I used a syringe without the needle to shoot it under the grips, they will slide right off.

Well...good news is, I figured it out. You don't need to roll back the grips - you can tease the dimple on the clip out of the holes in the bars with two flat screwdrivers and some patience.
Bad news is, my cracked idea of filling the bars...didn't work. Apparently there is a constriction in the tube somewhere, beyond the end weights. Really, the amount of shot I got in, was negligible. That was with both ends open...couldn't possibly have filled it.
The bar did feel "packed" where I rapped it near the mounts. It MARGINALLY seems to mitigate vibration, but nowhere near the complete or near elimination I had hoped. I suppose come fall, I'll take the bar off and stand it on its end to fill it.

Just,
I have a stock handlebar off the bike. I don't think there is any blockage in the bar but I'll check it out when I get home tonight and let you know. It's possible that when you took the bar weights out you pulled them out of the inner rubber rings. Mine came off when I took those bar weights off and I had to fish them out with a coat hanger. That was probably your blockage. And if they are pulled out those weights are not dampening vibration like they should. Did you take a picture of your weights when they were out?

Thanks for the info, Chip - but I linked back to the Bar replacement thread (yours?) with good photos. I did get the inner rubber mounts out. One came out as it should, with the inner weight; and the other didn't - and was easily retrieved with a wire.
You could look or try to judge: is there an inner sleeve set inside over the place where the brackets clamp down? Because the amount of shot that went in was almost negligible.

A follow-up.
Given that it didn't take much...I'm almost afraid to say this. It's so subjective I'm not even sure.
But after three days and about 30 in-town miles...my verdict is, it helped.
Not completely. But for the buzzing that would set in from 2500-3500rpm...in-town traffic use...I used to know when the bike warmed up; when the buzzing got to where my left hand would tingle. That seems to be GONE.
Of course, normal (what I think is normal) vibration is still there. Tank buzzes between my knees...that doesn't bother me. The vibration in the handlebars seems somewhat muted - or in any event it doesn't set my hand afire after fifteen minutes.
I was out and about on and off all day, yesterday, today...I'm more and more convinced I licked it. Now if I could get even MORE lead shot in there...by peeling off the bars (this winter) it may be the improvement will improve.

Just,
Yeah that thread is mine. I took my stock CB11 handlebars and rolled a marble that is just smaller than the opening right through them. Those bars are hollow without any restrictions in there at all. I slid some short batteries through them as well. I reload shotgun shells so I poured a ton of #8 shot into the bars from one end with the holes taped over on the other end. That bar holds a lot of lead shot (several pounds). I don't know why you couldn't get much in there. If you lay your bike on its side and take the weight out of the top end you should be able to pour a lot of shot in there.
