I have never lost a mysterious measurable amount of oil on the CB. If you are burning any, inspect the final exhaust ports for oily build-up. Flat black carbon build-up might be present, particularly on cold morning start-ups as condensation works its way out of the cold final pipes. But oil is heavier, shinier spotting at the muffler end. A more direct way is to inspect the spark plugs for oil deposits. The only other way out is a seal leak, but that should be much more obvious. All else being equal, fluctuations in oil level could mean more is stored up in the engine, but I am having a tough time selling that to myself since oil will eventually find its way back to the sump.
