I bought a CB1100A (the illusive black version with white checkers) last year from a dealer in Vancouver. So far so good. Only surprise was that I found out later that the battery was useless and had to be replaced.
Main thing is as peterbaron wrote: check for any previous accidents/falls. Given the rainy Westcoast climate, perhaps look at corrosion. Other than that, the usual ones: previous maintenance schedule, cleanliness of the engine (i.e. proof of maintenance), tires, engine sound, chain & sprockets, oil (quality/level), suspension, etc etc.
They seem to be pretty bulletproof bikes. Show us a picture if you buy it!!
