Actually, that wasn't the problem. I know I didn't have to remove the headlight from the wiring connector, but I did and the three prongs that hold it into the connector were like they were welded in. Had been in there for a long, long time and that got me thinking about what else on this bike had never been moved since it was assembled. Most likely when a vehicle is built, it is assumed it will be operated soon and fairly regularly until it wears out, but a lot of these bikes have not. They are sitting on showroom floors or a clean garage of someone who doesn't ride them for seven or eight years and then some guy like me comes along and thinks he is getting a good deal on a "new" bike. Ordinarily that headlight would have been replaced long ago and those plugs would have been out and in a few times by now, so I have a good excuse to tinker around with it and get my money's worth out of it.
