Yes, my fork tubes began rusting, and pitting. I live in San Diego, Ca, and several miles away from the coast, so salt-air is not an issue, especially since my bike is stored in a closed garage. I take excessive care of my motorcycles, and of all the bikes I have owned (over 25) , none have experienced rust like my CB1100. I have two bikes over 45 years old stored in my garage that have experienced less rust then my CB1100. I have seen excessive rust beneath the fenders, and on the handlebars. My bike has only been ridden in a mild rain twice since I have owned it, and I cleaned and dried it each time immediately upon returning home. I used the excuse of pitting on my fork tube to purchase a new pair of stock, Honda Big Piston forks (used on the 2017 year model). I believe that Honda cut corners when they applied the chrome plating on my 2014 Dlx.
