K&N air filter fitment question

Well I had bought a TSR Air Funnel Kit, Air Intake Funnel and K&N Filter HA-1301 for my bike. These parts are sitting in my closet till this winter when I will install them.

So I go and open them up for the first time to see if I have this same issue... I do not? My K&N Filter snaps right onto my TSR Intake Funnel.

So if I was to guess... K&N messed up on the boxing of their items.

I can provide pictures if need be but again I have no issues and my K&N Filter does not look like the one at the beginning of this topic.
