Hi there,

I just bought a K&N air filter and I wonder if I received the right part…

It is supposed to be the HA-1301 but as you can see the inside diameter is smaller than stock:

Is it the right one and if so what did you do to be able to put the snorkel back properly (or the TSR air funnel) ?

Thanks
Part # matches up correctly. ID difference looks substantial.

If I were you- and you continue to want to use it, I would take an exacto knife and cut the hole larger to match.

That being said- although I never tested the K&N on our bike, I don't think the stock filter is limiting anything. I could be wrong.

The TSR plate I did dyno on an otherwise stock bike +staintune muffler.

In that configuration the TSR plate made a tiny bit of power at the highest RPM, but it also went lean enough down low that I would not personally run it without adding fuel.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but I bought one and it was exactly like yours. I spent hours trying to get it to fit, but never could get it to go in far enough to get the snorkel on.

Unfortunately, mine had sat on a shelf for a year before I tried it, so I wasn't able to return it. Ended up chucking it

Mine was also labeled as an HA-1301, which is supposed to be the correct part for the CB1100.
Just stick to the Honda OEM filter !

If anyone else has one lying around that they are going to chuck- I'll give you a few bucks for it so I can try to cut it, make it fit, and dyno test it VS the stock filter.
It's weird it needs to be chucked since it's supposed to be a direct fit (asked K&N and got no answer yet)… anyone else before I return it?
I'm the second owner of my CB. When I went to change the air filter and discovered the previous owner had installed a K&N, it soon found itself at the bottom of my trash bin.
Dang, well HA-1301 is the right spec filter, right from the K&N web site. K&N screwed up somewhere. I've used K&N on ALL my vehicles throughout the years, never had a problem, always fit, love that they are cleanable/re-usable! Will soon get one to try on my newly-purchased 2013...
