Bike is great except for one thing: I noticed several times that when letting out the clutch in either 1st or 2nd, the clutch handle didn't return to it's full engaged position and would sit at 3/4 with the clutch not quite engaged. I then reengaged the clutch and let it out again and most times it would fully engage, only once did it only again go to 3/4.
I noticed there are numbers on a dial on the clutch lever and mine is set to 2 but I thought those were for adjusting total distance the handle goes out. I have not tried to adjust that dial as of yet.
This is clearly not normal. Does anyone else have any experience with this? Is it just a quick little adjustment I can make?
Agreed. Looking at the Hydraulics should be done just in case, but I can't fathom why only first and second. Surely has to be mechanical. I'm with Redbirds and fiscy on this one. Check clutch for lever play before the hydraulics actuate in all gears. Engine off for a start. Is play the same for all gears? Is there any play at all? With the engine off does the clutch lever return to the same position when selecting all gears? If you are game to run the engine while the bike is secured on the centre stand try it with engine on. Idle RPM should be OK. Same results? The answer to these questions might give a clue to the source of the problem It is hard to diagnose by Internet. The dealer might have to look at it.
