Clutch doesn't engage all the way in 1st/2nd

Being a hydraulic clutch, the clutch lever should return to the same point each time it is released. I would take the bike back to the dealer and have the system checked out. It may have some air trapped in the system which would need to be bled out. The numbers on the clutch lever are strictly for adjusting the lever for your preference for reach.
