How to...open up the handlebars?

So the grips have to come off; and a tang depressed that pokes through a hole near the end.

Cripes. I put a nice set of foam grips over the factory grips for added cushioning...and they did/do help; but the weren't designed to be removed once put on. They'll probably tear coming off.

You don't have to tear the foam grips. Use rubbing alcohol to remove the factory grips. I used a syringe without the needle to shoot it under the grips, they will slide right off.
