just a public service announcement for some that may be using any manner of aftermarket filters....

A year (maybe two) ago, many of the automotive filters changed the end design to a convex profile .vs a concave profile.
This convex profile sometimes causes the metal end cap to bottom first on the oil filter boss, prior to complete gasket mating - resulting in everything from seepage to an outright squirt.
I am NOT saying you'll have this problem. Just saying that it's something to be aware of.
Here's a pic of two filters that used to have iidentical end caps. I know, different part numbers. Just trust me here. The one on the left is new stock - the one on the right is old stock.

As far as the the HIFLO filters go - they are a fine filter. We've used them, and several of the local dealers stock them.
