DBM that argument reminds me of the arguments against anti-lock brakes. "If your skills are dialed, and you don't make any braking mistakes like grabbing a handful, then why would you need anti-lock brakes?"
The truth is that many riders are't dialed in, and street conditions vary far more than track conditions. If a slipper clutch can prevent engine braking from affecting the suspension and the grip of the rear tire under variable conditions of rider skill, road surface, lean angle, speed, etc. then that's a good not a bad thing.
