The weather was marginally good enough so I rode my '06 CB600 and picked up my new '14 CB1100 std. Suddenly the weather seemed much nicer!

Is that the first picture, and delivery, of a 14 standard? Either way...it looks great!! Good luck with it.

My dealer, here in San Diego, isn't being very upfront about my order I placed for my Deluxe almost two months ago. They phoned me last Saturday to tell me the bike would shipped on Monday. Well, it's not here yet (Thursday evening) and after two visits to the shop all they can tell me is that it's shipped, but they don't know where it is. Needless to say, this answer is not sitting well with me and I am becoming impatient. On another note, they sold one standard 2014 CB1100 already, and they have a nearly-new 2013 CB1100 on the floor that somebody just traded in this week (did this belong to anybody from this forum?). It has a fairing, luggage rack, and an electronic tire pressure sensor on it. I asked the salesman what the previous owner traded it in on and he couldn't tell me.

I'm trading in my 2013 CB1100 but get to keep it, and ride it, until the new one arrives in late March. I'll post pictures to this thread when I pick it up. This new bike is definitely a collectible... I can't see how Honda could make this new model any better or more like the orig CB short of doing 4 into 4 pipes. I'm super excited!!!!!!
Curious what you paid? the dealer up in Concord is trying to convince me to trade in my 13 for a 14, not sure how much I am willing to pay for another gallon of gas and a sixth gear? There first pitch is 11.9 for the 14 with 8K in trade, not good enough.

Price is so personal... (and can vary regionally), especially on emotional big ticket purchases like a motorcycle. Let's face it, we need to own a car, not a motorcycle. We want to own motorcycles...
Remember, the new DLX has more to offer than what you mentioned...chrome headers, dual exhaust, new instruments, new seat, not to mention the new transmission, and the bigger tank. I doubt I did as good as you could do...when I saw it, I just HAD to have it. Bottom line, if the spread you have to cover is $3,900 bottom line, ride out.... go down to the dealer and sign the papers before they change their mind. That is much better than I did. Good luck!!
