after taking that pic, I too separated my pile into different categories.. I use cheap, shallow plastic oil drain pans.. I picked them up at a dollar store.. I must have 8 or 10 of them.. they probably hold as much as a large coffee can each, but I don't have to pour them out to sort through them for that one special length etc.. I have learned, sorting through one big pile of nuts and bolts is a time killer...... chuckk j.
as far as my electrical connection goes, I tapped into the headlight to find a source that comes on with the ignition.. I felt I would not need a switch and have them come on again, with the ignition.. however I have heard of people tapping into their high beams and having them Come on with them, or maybe the low beam electrical leads.. what ever floats your boat.. although, when an LED lasts for 20,000 hours, why pinch up on safety.. Hmmm ... how many rides would 20,000 hours equate to ... chuckk j.

I have just a few more pics, showing how I installed the lights on to the oil cooler.. a spacing collar was needed.. I will email the pics.. chuckk j.

what a treasure these have been when you need a nut or bolt..

Big Grin

That bolt looks too short. After the nut, the bolt should stick-out at least one complete thread as an absolute minimum (some say three threads) so the locknut can do its thing.

you are right, in a perfect world I would want to have more threads showing.. my pic of the bolt, nut, and spacer may be a little misleading.. I mainly wanted to show the spacing collar that I used.. I randomly grabbed a nut and bolt for the pic.. I didn't use that type of locking nut that could be described as a "nylock".. I used the more typical Honda nut that has the flange on it.. the flange seems to act as a lock washer in my estimation.. so I am not using the very end threads of the bolt to secure the nut in place.. the oil cooler bracket has is own threads, so that nut on the end acts like the kind of lock nut one would find on valve clearance adjusters.. that was my logic........ chuckk j.

Thanks for the added pics of your spacer. Looked at my bike last night... might move mine to the cooler someday.
