Speedo/Tacho Gauge alignment?

Meanwhile, I'm left with my OCPD.... I've had it all my life and so I've learned to ignore things like this. Until you come along and get me all stirred up...!! Big Grin

I think you're correct in that it is a combination of a lot of small things. For me, the clock faces are all wrong... the "blank" spaces at the bottom of the clocks' faces are unequal and "wrong". If I were designing them, I would ensure that the plain black wedges, with no white lettering, would appear equal on both sides. Currently it's not and it does offend the eye - this matters more to some people than others.

The angle of the master cylinders, the handlebar fitting, gauge mount, etc., all have a bearing on "oddness". I've had to learn to deal with all this visual discomfort regarding many things (even food upon a plate, ffs!!) but it's really interesting that others see these things too.

See? I'm not THAT odd!! Big Grin

It's always reassuring to know we are not alone! Big Grin

Hi Richard. I almost laughed out loud when I read this thread! I thought it was only me who was as OCD as this! Every bike I have has to be set up and tweaked before I can settle. It's really stupid and I know it but can't help it. I think it's often because of the way bikes are transported from dealers to home address. I cringe when I watch a delivery guy strapping a bike down in the back of a van, they crank up the ratchet hard, on full left lock, often on the handlebar ends ( which is their weakest point) and I'm sure this is what misaligns things. I find just loosening the bolts around the clocks and bars etc to let them centralise and settle does the trick. Half an hour in the garage, with a tape measure, couple of spanner's and brew to hand and perfecto.

Clearly this is a common affliction, and we should not be concerned. Big Grin

Dude, when the dealer calls to tell me it came in, I'm going to ride about 15 miles to a Triumph dealer to pick up a single bolt, that goes on the lower part of the frame, because it will match the other three near it.

Hey, if you stand right here, and bend over a little bit, and tilt your head, if the light is just right, you can see they aren't EXACTLY the same.
