Good news. Strange only first and second gear. Ah well! Live and learn.
You blokes must be hanging out for summer by now . Cheers and enjoy the ride.

I bet the dealer found air. I don't know of a dealership that would find no problem and then still take action. Sounds fishy. Maybe they didn't want you to think that they sold you a bike without testing it first.

Except that Andy indicated that the problem stopped before he brought it to the dealer. At least that's how I read his post.

OK, Since it was under warranty and they will bill Honda a nice hourly rate, so either they found air or didn't find air and did the flush or didn't do the flush, but sure as sh*t they billed Honda.

I saw the problem in about the first 100 miles and then didn't see it after that. Dropped off the bike at the dealer with a bit more than 150 (most of which was highway miles but some stop and go). They didn't charge me and it's not happening any more so no complaints.

Maybe the system needed bleeding. I doubt it. But flushing? Maybe the actuating piston was binding on the return spring or housing, and then, after some use, freed. The spring returns the piston, and consequently the lever, to position. But, again, why only 1 and 2? I dunno, just the musings of a bush mechanic.
Cheers

If it makes you feel any better, my CB seemed to be easy to 'slip' when I first got it. I could hammer on 1st or 2nd when rolling out of the clutch and it would take a moment to fully engage. With time, that went away. I can pick up the front wheel on the 1-2 shift now.
