Well picked up my remodelled seat today what a difference was thinking I may have to sell because of poor comfort but this bike will stay for a long long time.

This spring on my first ride two up with my wife I was really having a
hard time in stop and go traffic , she could tell to. She said boy really
struggling. My leg don't seem very strong anymore.
I sold it to young fellow who works at the UW here. I told him to join the forum , I hope he does.
For the past week we have been running all over two states looking
for a bike.
We ended up at Ken's Sports in Kaunakau Wi. . Even though they are very large dealer they really treated us well.
So I What I got was a CTX 700nd dct abs. So low seat and no more clutch lever .

I've heard a few on this forum lamenting the lack of drain plugs on the forks of modern bikes and I'm one of them.

Yesterday while cleaning my garage work area I decided to drain the fork oil from the GS Suzuki project bike. The right fork seal is leaking badly so with everything made neat and put away, it was a good time to get started replacing the seals. And, this being a vintage bike it is blessed to have drain plugs easily removed with a phillips head screw driver. Right side plug came out first and the oil was neatly dispensed into a pan. Over to the left side and as the plug came out I was sprayed from head to toe with fork oil. The garage wall, floor, adjustable stool all drenched. Some even managed to get on Pam's Honda parked on the opposite side. I had to simply laugh at myself and remember next time to release my tie downs and take the pressure off the forks. Experience keeps a dear school but a fool will learn in no other. A large bucket of soapy water and two hours later, everything OK.

FYI, Dawn dish washing liquid is awesome.

I was just innocently surfing craigslist and found this little trailbike, running and cheap. Spent about $100 on ebay this morning for various things. I always like having a project.

Got my bike on the 5th and had an appointment at the DMV on the 19h,an appointment I made about 4 weeks ago. I had to have 2 bikes inspected and registered,even though I made an appointment it still took 2 1/2 hours to get the inspections done then was told to take a number and have a seat,had things to do so I didn’t have anymore time. Really disappointed I didn’t get the paper work done so I figured I can make another appointment and wait another 3 weeks or take a chance and just go to the DMV,how long could it take anyway? Try 6 hours,6 hours of waiting for 10 minutes of paper work. There is absolutely no excuse for this crap but got the bike done,let the mods begin!

I feel like there is a journey with each motorcycle. You become aware of the bike. Maybe it is an impulse buy or maybe you research it extensively before you buy. Then you get to know it. Tweak it. Customize it. Get it dialed in just like you want it. And take some rides. Maybe short around town or epic cross country.

I think I am pretty well convinced that I want to take a CB1100 journey. In fact I have already begun my journey. I am in the shopping part. I am going to savor this part of the journey. Go look at some bikes. I have seen two so far.

I did that with the Versys. I added a windscreen, driving lights and top case. I have it set up just right for my needs and it has served me very well.

I am working on that with the Harley. I am not quite there yet. I have a noise I want to track down. I think I want to finish my journey on the Harley before I buy the CB1100.

I think my first step will be to sell the Versys. That will free a slot in the garage. But I want to finish the Harley. I think the last few items on my list for that bike will help me sell it.

Then, I will focus on my CB1100 journey. I go back and forth on which one I like best. I think I would like any of them. The 2013, 2014 Deluxe and 2017 EX are the ones that appeal to me the most at the moment. But the black 2014 in the "I Don't Understand" thread looks really cool. I could see myself going with the 2014 and working towards a look like that.

There are so many of the 2014s around for around $7,400 OTD it seems likely that that deal will be around for a while. The 2017 EX for $11K to 12K out the door seems like the standard deal so I do not think I need to be in a rush for that deal. If somebody beats those deals or if I find a private party deal, I might start my CB1100 journey before I am finishes with my Harley journey.

It's been some time since this annual classics show, it was on the last weekend of May, but I was a bit lazy I suppose to post pictures about it.

Even though I no longer have my CB1100 I still read this forum every day. One of the best on the web I think.

I purchased the new CB1100 recently, and everything has been a blast.

Recently I installed a dart merlin flyscreen. Before this I have never rode the bike at night. The first time I rode at night I noticed it's actually very dark.

My headlight obviously works, with normal and high beam. I figured the headlight would be better in the newer version as it's LED I believe. The reason why I mentioned the dart flyscreen is because I noticed at night my bike lights road signs very well, but not the actual road.

I'm wondering a) did me installing the screen sign mess up the headlight in anyway? IE the headlight maybe damaged, or it's aimed higher than it should be, which I don't think so.

The other option is maybe the headlight is defective?

Anyone else with the newer CB1100 have any issues with the stock headlight at night?

Any recommendations for new headlight?
