Yoshi vs Stock

i have two video's of my stock exhaust and Yoshi.

Yoshi 8.0 0-100
Stock 9.1

These runs where both on a slight uphill grade in the same location. On the Yoshi run you can see the wheel up and bounce at the 30mph area, I was laughing through the whole run after that. So, that's a full second faster 0-100. Anyone interested in seeing the vids can e-mail me.

My first run with the yoshi i spun the back tire, you can see the speedo jump to 55 and back down to 50 and the bike got sideways on me. I have that one too.

Edit: I ran .3 better with a closed airbox ( the vid is with closed airbox )

I'm going to take you up on that offer, I just think it's funny to post on the internet that you don't post anything on the internet. I get your meaning though.

Just watched them, CIP57. Yoshi definitely quicker, I timed them for the fun of it and got the same as you, 8.0 and 9.1. Don't need a timer to see the improvement with the Yoshi, you got to 100mph in a flash, in fact I was surprised just how quick it happened.

I can't wait to see a quarter mile time without the speed limiter, this bike should run low 11's without breaking a sweat. With the Yoshi exhaust and improvements to the airbox/filter for better breathing your bike is potentially a 10 second CB1100. Cool.

The Yoshi has a great throaty sound to it, very slight increase in DB.
When the bike is tuned correctly i can see it getting into the 10.90's with a professional mounted.

The Yoshi and Staintune slip ons are my favorite, they sound good but not loud.

10.90 is a very reasonable goal, the magazine ran 11.7 and was undoubtedly hitting the speed limiter with terminal speed of 110 and some change. I wonder how long the bike was topped out on that run. 10.9 would be a .8 second improvement, that's more than it sounds like, but definitely achievable. The ECU flash gave you some improvement beyond disabling the speed and rev limiters, (if I am reading y'alls posts right). With the pipe, and better breathing air box, you are probably very close, if not there.
You don't have to be a pure professional to make a good quarter mile run on this bike, I made some hole shots one day just to see how it feels. The bike will launch hard if you slip the clutch just right, piece of cake. The trick is to, for lack of a better term, go easy, slip the clutch just enough to get rolling before you fully disengage. Wasn't watching the RPMs but the bike seems to like quick shifting from 1st to 2nd, and not to redline in 2nd before shifting to 3rd. Don't want to lug it, but the bike is torquey enough to shift quickly to third and then just let it rip. (Just like your vids, :))

Just installed my yosh today. Sounds much better. As noted above, nice throaty sound not too loud.

Went for a ride today. Definitely a noticeable increase in power.

Was just my sausage fingers or was the centre stand stop bracket the most difficult part of the install? Took me 45 minutes to get the spacers in and lined up.

LOL the left side bolt (spacer)was a challenge. Very nice system and the diameter of the header is much larger than stock.

Definitely. I spent as much time fididelling with the stop bracket as all the rest of it.

The fit of this exhaust is amazing. Though the instructions recommended removing the front fender and tire, I got away with only removing the fender. I also spent a little time trying to decide between the copper crush washers I had picked up at my dealer and the comparatively small, flat washers that came with the system. I ended up using the Yoshi ones, held in place during assembly with a daub of heavy grease. There's no leaks and my manifold nuts haven't loosened so far.

There was a fair amount of corrosion where the manifold nuts met the stock flanges. The nuts had rough, jagged edges and bottom faces. I sanded them smooth on a piece of emory paper so they wouldn't gouge the lovely Yoshi flanges and also used copper anti-sieze on all the bolts.

I also fiddled a bit with the old crush washers. At first I wasn't sure there were old washers in there, they were so crushed down. I didn't want to nick or scratch the aluminum heads so my first probing with a small screwdriver didn't accomplish anything.

Then I noticed that the inner part of the old washers were blackened with soot which made them appear to be part of the engine. I pushed the edge of a sharp 1/4" chisel into the gap between the washer and the head and using the opposite side of the exhaust port as a fulcrum they pried right out.

Yep, I had to line up the left side blind, and then used a small nail to line up the right side washer. Took me several tries and several f-bombs to get it right. I contemplated leaving the left side spacer out, but I knew it would bother me forever. I am glad my perfectionist side made me stick with it.
