What helmet are you wearing?

I'm wearing a Bell RS-1. It's not made anymore, and it's kind of noisy, and not retro at all. It fits me well, though. I'm thinking about trying out one of the Nexx XG100s, next. They have a bit of a retro vibe, and are a little cheaper than the Bell Bullitt. They don't appear to have much ventilation, which appears to be the case with most retro full face helmets.

My helmet varies according to the cycle I'm riding.
CB1100 , HJC CL-17 Full Face , also Fulmer Ranger half helmet
Gold Wing Shoei RJ Platinum R Open Face
BMW R1100RT Shoei Quest Full Face, also Fulmer Ranger half helmet
BMW K75 HJC CS-R2 Full Face, also Fulmer Ranger half helmet

Recently replaced my 11yr old Shoei Multitec with a Noetec. Still getting use to the chin strap difference, but it fits & feels good.

Schuberth C3 Pro- It's not vintage looking but I don't trade safety for looks when it comes to my head. It's also incredibly quiet with earplugs (I like my Flare Audio Isolates a LOT) and comfortable.

Luke... Hooooh... I am your father ( in Earl Jones voice)

The big argument over on the St forum has to do with Snell and some test in England, where some cheaper dot helmets rate better than some much more expensive snell helmets and so do some modulars

Used a Bell RS1 for years. Recently got the Bell Bullitt. Noisy, but looks great and I feel great wearing it.

It's a simple, not expensive jet helmet. Over the years I tried different ones, all jet helmets. This one I like most. Fits well, is not too loud and if it's raining, the rain stays outside even if he falls upfront in combination with wind. In case of an accident, stop I don't want to think about it, but I prefer the open feel while riding. You can't have it all.
Also I own a Schubert J1, which can imitate an integral helmet and I used the Schubert over years. After a while I switched to the HJC, feels more comfortable to wear.

I wear an Arai RX-Q which feels comfortable, is reasonably light and I think is a high quality lid. Two questions I have are: have any of you worn the same helmet? and how does it compare to a Shoei RF or Schubert, particularly from a road noise perspective? If I ever fail to put my ear plugs in before setting out on the highway, my ears start ringing with the whistle of +60 mph airflow quickly. Just curious if competing helmets are better or worse as I'm only a season away from replacing it. Thanks, Tom

There may be helmets that are quieter, but none will protect you from hearing damage if you are consistently riding at 100 kph.

Next step are earplugs
I always were earplugs , lost some of my hearing at a Rolling Stones concert in 1989 in Syracuse NY( Steel Wheels Tour )

The Ferret turned me on to silicone putty earplugs. They have worked great for me both in comfort and in noise reduction. One tip: you may think that they will expand into your ear canal, but they tend to hold the shape into which you mold them. If you taper them too much they will not as much of the sound. They work better for me when I sort of press them into my ears with my thumbs.
