I've never welded anything in my life, but if I made the attempt today, I bet my welds would look something like this header.

Hate loud pipes, Loud pipes should be for competition only/. Talk about aggravating non motorcyclists. Loud pipes hurt the image and the acceptance of motorcyclists by general public.

Greg if your riding a motorcycle for your image then you should probably buy a harley because thats what the majority of people like and want to look at. I dont ride or even put together my motorcycles to impress other people I do it for me and what I like if someone else likes it to neat if you dont I dont really care. Thanks for posting the previous thread btw hiker

Chill out guys. With almost 1,000 members now, there are going to be very few things that we will all see eye to eye on.

Good luck with your exhaust search sethrose, there is bound to be something out there that meets your needs. Greg, perhaps just be thankful that Seth is not your neighbor.

MADMAX : Short Pipe Exhaust for CB1100 (SC65) [08-0116-C] I found this one as well it doesnt look that bad and for the price I dont think you could beat it kinda has the older style like I want so maybe ill go with it I couldnt find the thread on the motoworks but I think either pipe would be good for me.

Hi Sethrose,
I agree that when you get just the right sound it's one of those modifications that multiplies the riding enjoyment by a factor of 1000 - go for whatever turns you on!! I chose the KSY system from Webike http://japan.webike.net/products/21004612.html as it was inexpensive but had that old school 4cyl racing howl of a Kerker - or what my fading memory thinks anyway!! Now here comes the "but" ... the header pipes were not exactly aligned to the exhaust outlets and it leaked around the header, also the outlet looked a bit aggricultiral. To sort out the issues we made up some aluminium sleeves to improve the seal of the pipe to the standard flange gaskets and turned up an aluminium end cap - pics below. Given the even cheaper chrome pipe you've seen at Webike does state that there will be leakage issues I thought you might want to see how I resolved the problem.

KSY system - I like the 'raw' look of this system, it's got an agressive note without being too loud plus the fuel mapping still seems OK. I run the removable baffle in all the time but with baffle removed it sounds like a race bike.

Aluminium flanges - these insert into the opening of the headers and provide a broader surface for the flange gaskets.

Home made end cap.

Moral of the story is 'you get what you pay for' and with the benfit of 20:20 hindsight the more expensive Morwaki 4:1 may have been a better option.

Good luck with your project.

I went with the mot werks gp. It fit well def replace gaskets and tape ur frame as to not scratch it. The fact n after r tight. The price tag was cheap compared to what u get. It keeps center stand and o2 sensor.
The cb 1100 has a master piece motor ( imo)and this is what it should sound like. Imo again. I like the bike more now. Ride in lower gear and tend to go into higher rpm before shifting. Pipe seems mellow when cruising but as you addd throttle it comes to life.
Will see how it holds up, ive just recently added it

Then why did you even comment on the thread? It's ok I've already stated your opinion on the exhaust I want on my bike doesn't matter it's my bike my choice I just wanted to see what others used. I'm gonna get a motorsworksgp one and take the baffle out. So ride your quite bike and have fun I'll ride my and have just as much fun different strokes for different folks.
