If it is me who decides, I'd like to defer the choice to '64 who had a most outstanding pic.

Thank you very much for recommending me to propose the subject for May's photo challenge. I humbly accept and suggest a picture of your CB in front of a an abandoned, condemned or ruined building, structure or dwelling.
I believe our beautiful motorcycles would contrast nicely with the ruins that are caused by the passage of time and would produce some good pictures. Feel free to apply filters to enhance the imagery.



As an example, a photo of an abandoned structure that I found today on my early morning ride. Now, get on your bikes and take some pictures.

You just described about half the buildings I encounter on my country road trips. Okay, you asked for them ... a sample from today's ride in Oklahoma ...

Glad I saw the topic while at lunch break during my ride ... this is the first building that came to mind, and I knew it was somewhere on the route home ... it's grown over quite a bit since I last passed it years ago, so you can't read all the art deco letters anymore ...

Side view ... you can make out "gymnasium" ...

Great pictures! Great topic. I should have checked the Forum before my ride yesterday. I'm sure I passed a building or two that would have made excellent backdrops. I'll get out there again once (if) it stops raining here.

In the meantime, just to keep the record clear -- Max submitted the first qualifying picture (assuming that it was taken on or after 5/1, Aussie time).

If I can get my butt in gear and head down to Mordor, err, I mean the ol' steel mill in Hamilton, Ontario, there is plenty rust I am sure my blue CB might look good next to. Alternatively, Buffalo, NY.

Today’s pictures of a couple of the surviving abandoned buildings in the Middletown Psychiatric Center campus.
Many of these facilities were phased out and, I believe, many of these poor patients became part of the homeless population.

Suhawk, thank you for the great pictures and the link with the story of the hospital. I always found the abandoned buildings quite intriguing, and some skilled photographers out there are capable of capturing incredible images of these relics.
