I received my SW MOTECH engine guards today. Would someone with a shop manual please tell me what the torque value of the engine mounting bolts is supposed to be? Thanks in advance.

In the '13 service manual:
For the 2 bolts that go through the frame downtube, nut torque is 36 ft. Lbs For the bolt right by them that goes through the engine (then that long spacer to the triangle piece, nut torque is 44 ft. Lbs.

I recently installed same bars. Bolts took some power to break loose. I may have tightened them more than 44 but put some loctite on them. I don't think they'll come loose.

Be careful to not grossly over torque, particularly in aluminium structures. Failure of the fastener or, more likely, the structure, may occur, particularly when loads and vibration as in engine mounts are concerned. That is why torque values are set, rather than "as tight as you can get".
Cheers

I had the same experience during my installation. The bolts seemed to be significantly tighter than 44 ft. Lbs. They did get torqued to 44 according to my torque wrench when put back together.

I didn't go crazy cranking them down, but probably exceeded the spec torque. I just used a regular ratchet and went till nice and tight.
