Aiming for beauty and fun that transcend the numbers

This is a pretty neat discussion from the CB1100's primary designer about how our bikes wound up the way they are.

Hope I'm not repeating a previous post; I did a search for it but didn't find it listed before now.

Mission accomplished I'd say..at least from my perspective.

Then you may not have seen this very cool movie!

I was pretty sure I wanted a CB before I saw this, but this definitely clinched the deal for me. I must have watched it 20 times waiting for my bike to arrive from Japan!

GREAT reading. Thanks for finding that! Big Grin I am keeping a small file of all the write-ups, reviews, etc. that have been released on this bike as I like to keep them and read them years later. I also usually pass on those sorts of printouts/magazine reviews when I sell a bike to the next owner, but I don't see that happening any time soon with this bike !!!

Yeah, I tried the link myself and it didn't work. I figured it must be my browser, but apparently not. Maybe its just down temporarily. I hope so; although its in Japanese, its subtitled and the designer comments are very interesting.

Imagine the Japanese version of Willie G. Davidson...

I prefer the original "tense" design. Smile

This link seems to be taking me there today, but the video requires flash player, so it's a no-go on my iPad. It should work on a PC.

Good luck!

I've run across several articles and interviews on the CB1100 design and was delighted when you posted a link to this one.

I'm probably bias, but I can't recall as much ink being used to detail a bike's development and design. I get the impression Honda is pretty proud of the bike.

There's also some pretty cool stuff on the first page of the CB1100 designer's talk article
