Aiming for beauty and fun that transcend the numbers - The Spaceman_imp - 10-04-2013 This is a pretty neat discussion from the CB1100's primary designer about how our bikes wound up the way they are. http://world.honda.com/design/designers-talk/cb1100/page2/ Hope I'm not repeating a previous post; I did a search for it but didn't find it listed before now. RE: Aiming for beauty and fun that transcend the numbers - the Ferret - 10-04-2013 Mission accomplished I'd say..at least from my perspective. RE: Aiming for beauty and fun that transcend the numbers - The Spaceman_imp - 10-04-2013 Then you may not have seen this very cool movie! http://www.honda.co.jp/CB1100/impression/english/index.html I was pretty sure I wanted a CB before I saw this, but this definitely clinched the deal for me. I must have watched it 20 times waiting for my bike to arrive from Japan! RE: Aiming for beauty and fun that transcend the numbers - GUNFTR_imp - 10-04-2013 GREAT reading. Thanks for finding that! I am keeping a small file of all the write-ups, reviews, etc. that have been released on this bike as I like to keep them and read them years later. I also usually pass on those sorts of printouts/magazine reviews when I sell a bike to the next owner, but I don't see that happening any time soon with this bike !!!
Could not get it to play... Yeah, I tried the link myself and it didn't work. I figured it must be my browser, but apparently not. Maybe its just down temporarily. I hope so; although its in Japanese, its subtitled and the designer comments are very interesting. Imagine the Japanese version of Willie G. Davidson... RE: Aiming for beauty and fun that transcend the numbers - rboe - 10-04-2013 I prefer the original "tense" design.
RE: Aiming for beauty and fun that transcend the numbers - Rolls_imp - 10-05-2013 http://www.honda.co.jp/CB1100/impression/english/index.html This link seems to be taking me there today, but the video requires flash player, so it's a no-go on my iPad. It should work on a PC. Good luck! RE: Aiming for beauty and fun that transcend the numbers - CB4ME_imp - 10-05-2013 Spaceman - I've run across several articles and interviews on the CB1100 design and was delighted when you posted a link to this one. I'm probably bias, but I can't recall as much ink being used to detail a bike's development and design. I get the impression Honda is pretty proud of the bike. There's also some pretty cool stuff on the first page of the CB1100 designer's talk article http://world.honda.com/design/designers-talk/cb1100/ RE: Aiming for beauty and fun that transcend the numbers - SanPete_imp - 10-05-2013 Thank you for the read, I enjoyed it. RE: Aiming for beauty and fun that transcend the numbers - Bbref36_imp - 10-06-2013 ALL thanks for sharing both of these. I think Ive seen them before but now I have them book marked. Thanks again |
