This morning I installed a new OEM Yuasa batterie on my 2017 and when I took it for a ride this afternoon (50 miles) the CEL stayed on from when I started the bike . The bike runs perfect , 14 volt charging from bike and instant starting. The bike might have been without a batterie for 15 at the most. Does a code have to be reset on the 2017 , the CEL did not come on when I put a new batterie on my 2013 and 2014.
Can I reset it myself or does it need a dealer reset ? Dealer is close by for about $20 they did reset it a few years ago after an aborted O2 eliminator on my 2017.

Thanks Peter ; I just went out to the garage and put on the ignition , after the fuel pump stopped I slowly opened the throttle , started the bike and the MIL/ CEL did not come on ! That is now but hopefully stays that way , will take out again this week.
All this was done after I had a nice White Labs beer called Better Haze Ahead !
This is a local Asheville Yeast Lab making there own beer and selling yeast nation wide.
My motto is : no problem big enough in life a few beers can not take care of . JOKE

John just adding to the information;
The cel was likely set when you started the bike with the old battery and a no-start.
This happened to me on the cb1000r, it had a "hiccup moment " when i started the bike, i red the code ( with the dlc connector procedure ) and from memory it was 67 or something like that.
Could not find the explanation for this code and reset it by the same method, no adverse effects were ever present so i assume it was a low battery code.
glad to know it has cleared and as far as i understand; blinking cel is current event, solid cel is a historic event.

Houtman is right , a lot of great folks on here with lots of great information that’s very helpful. I sold my 2013 cb1100 now with much regret. I replaced it with a 2020 Triumph Speedmaster. I have had some issues with it since new. Now at only with a 1000 miles on it , I wish I had a forum to lean on like what is here. I still check in regularly for some needed sanity.Again thanks to all the great folks here.

Sorry to read about the Triumph issues obleo. I am coming across quite a few disgruntled recent owners of Triumphs. It is a bit of a surprise.
