Black Frame Paint
#1
I have just discovered quite a deep scratch on my centre stand, probably caused by my boot having a piece of gravel in the tread when I put the stand down. I'd like to paint the scratch using the correct Honda black paint for a 2019 EX. Does anyone know the code for this frame paint. I don't want to use just any old black paint from a hardware store as I'm not sure whether it is a full gloss or satin type finish.

Thanks,
Simon

The center stand, eh?

Doesn't it get its daily dose of chain lube pollution and road grime to kinda cover it up?

What do I know. Sad

It is not the exact code but this was the closest match I could get from autozone at the time.

I maybe wouldn't use it on the tank right in your face but it's indistinguishable everywhere else. Especially the stand.

My buddy flips Harleys constantly and he always just uses black nailpolish for little touch ups in inconspicuous areas like that.

Cheap, acrylic, and easy to have a few shades lying around.

I have a black ST1300. The touchup paint for it is Pro Honda Touch-up paint, Graphite Black p/n 08P50-NHB01D-PN I got it at the dealer.

The black fairings on the ST look like the black frame the ST and CB to me.

Just throwing it out there.

Thanks everyone for your input. After a bit of research I've found a website called scratcheshappen.com. They list coloured paints for the CB1100. There seem to be several blacks:
Black Code NH-1
Darkness Black Code NH-463M
Graphite Black Code NH-B01 (as per Lord Popgun)
Matte Ballistic Black Code NH-A86M
Matte Black Code NH-105
I'll do a bit more research and see if I find out which one applies to the 2019 European version of the EX. Being a bit pedantic I'd rather use the correct paint if I can (even if it is only the side stand!).

Spechg, the colour code for your CB should be on a label on the frame on the left side under the seat. However, I’m pretty sure that’s the tank and trim colour not the frame. I suspect the colours you’ve listed are also tank colours.

I guess you might be more interested in the paint's adhesion (or durability) than the exact color code. Am I wrong ?

Yes, the code under the seat is R381C (Candy Chromosphere Red). There is no code shown for the black frame. I expect you are correct that those black codes I listed are probably tank colours. I've e mailed scratcheshappen.com to see if they know what the correct code for my frame is. I'm sure you're all on tenterhooks awaiting the result!

I heard back from scratcheshappen.com. They say that the 2019 EX has a frame colour code of Black NH-1, but clear coat must also be applied to achieve the correct finish. Since my scratch is only on the centre stand I'll just use some Rustoleum Satin Black enamel to keep the rust at bay.
