Dave, did you send the original IACV to peterbaron?
No, I did not. If Peter believes he can gain anything from it I will though. That would be great if we could figure out a way to fix this problem without having to disassemble everything like I did. I think the motor is defective because sometimes my bike ran well, and other times it did not.
Can you access and replace the IACV without having to disassemble everything?

Well, in post 911, the front wheel was still on!

Ugh,please don't tell me my brand new bike has the dreaded idle issue. It doesn't even have 300 miles yet. The problem started the other day. The first video was taken when it started. Videos 2 and 3 were taken tonight. The bike idles like this when started, but returns to 1000 rpms after riding for a little while.

I've skimmed the thread - is there a definitive answer from Honda as to the underlying root cause?

Started cold or started hot?
~1500 RPM is a normal cold start.
~1000 RPM is normal idle when fully warm.
Pdedse posted some observations in post 786.
My 3 cents in post 775
If you do actually have an issue, I would disconnect and then reconnect EOT, TPS and IACV...to be sure connections are good.
When mine was uncrated, last November, it needed a new battery, but has no issues in almost 10,000 miles

Cold start. It’s always cold started at 1000 rpms until now. It is a new bike so maybe it’s just getting broken in?!?

Yes, totally hopeless case Mike, just kidding.
Congratulations on the new bike, looks fantastic and it is good to see that you are looking and listening after it.
Fortunately for you the prognosis is very hopeful and life expectancy of the bike is over 100.000 miles as described by another member ( fan ) i have to admit that you are the first one to bring this up and even complement the post with no less than 3 video's.
What is happening ( and you may not have started the bike cold before ) is that Honda have replaced the old fashioned choke with an automatic system which works in all temperatures and makes the engine idle at 1500 rpm when cold-started, depending on the temperature outside it will regulate the rev's back to around 1000 rpm when the bike reaches it's operating temperature.
So what you show on the video is perfectly normal and so is the sound of the engine.
Thanks for your concern and now go and enjoy the bike to get to the first service ( 600 miles i think ) at which the oil and filter needs to be replaced ( to remove the small particles ) and the next obvious question of what oil etc to use.
Have fun.

Thank you, Max. Is it obvious I’m a newb to the bike (and modern fuel injection)?
I’m also happy to hear my paranoia has added something to this thread
This forum is such a fantastic resource to guys like me who overthink things. With regards to the 600 mile service, I’ve already posted elsewhere asking what kind of honda oil to use, air filters, etc, etc.
Thanks again.

indeed, Mike, after watching your vids, there is simply nothing to worry about, because, there is no issue.
Lol, I dunno why you are even going into panic mode, your bike is steady at 1000rpm, its like the needle isn't moving at all, thats what you want!
1000rpm is, if I remember well, the normal idle rev range when the bike is warmed up.
The bike didnt even go under 1000 rpm, isn't unsteady at idle, and hasn't stalled....
When you encounter what I have encountered:
than you can worry....
Just ride your smooth Honda!
